Junior Cricket Cancellations & Late Changes

This page contains information about cancellations and late changes and about how match cancellations and late changes to the draw or venues are advised. Sometimes matches are cancelled, or where possible moved to another ground as early as Friday night because the council has closed the grounds due to wet conditions, which will simply not allow wickets and grounds to be useable.

 

WDSCA Action & Junior Grades Cancellations              
Cancellations are broadcast on Saturday mornings on Newstalk ZB, 1080 khz AM and 89.4 FM, at 7:00am, 7:30am and 8:00am. You need to listen carefully for WESTERN DISTRICTS SCHOOL CHILDRENS CRICKET, then to hear whether all junior cricket is cancelled or just matches at specific grounds.

 

WDSCA Ground and Draw Changes                          
Changes to the draw are advised by e-mail to the contact name held for each club, who will pass details onto the Coach and / or Manager of each affected team.

 

ACA Under 14, 15, & 18 Grades               
For high school age teams (U.14, U.15 & U.18) who play in the Auckland Cricket Association competition it is often a matter of turning up at the ground to find out as cancellations for these games are not broadcast. This is because matches are played across a wider area of Auckland. Often it may be raining in this part of Auckland, but perfectly fine elsewhere.

Greater Auckland Junior Cricket             
Cancellations are broadcast on Saturday mornings on Newstalk ZB, 1080 khz AM and 89.4 FM, at 7:00am, 7:30am and 8:00am. You need to listen carefully for "ALL YEAR 6-8 GREATER AUCKLAND JUNIOR CRICKET IS CANCELLED".
