Howick Pakuranga were reminded how quickly a cricket match can turn after letting their guard down on day one of their top of the table clash against Eden Roskill at Keith Hay Park. Howick won the toss and sent Eden Roskill into bat and the formidable strike force of Dean Wedlake (4-47), Donovan Grobbelaar (3-42) and Greg Morgan (3-49) simply proved too good for the home side who were bundled out for 150. Howick would not have expected what was to follow. Tom Henderson, fresh from a six wicket bag last week, was thrown the ball and got straight down to work taking 3-1 off five overs to have Howick licking their wounds at 12/4 at stumps. Howick will be hoping for a change of fortune on day two as they battle it out with Eden Roskill for Blue Section supremacy.
